As you we celebrate EVS Week, we wanted to share an initiative we’ve created to support professional development for the incredible people on your team.
EVS teams are the front line of defense against infection and play a critical role in the overall safety, cleanliness, and reputation of healthcare facilities. Their work goes far beyond cleaning—they help save lives, provide comfort, and create an environment where healing can thrive.
To honor this impact, several years ago we launched the Surfacide Shining Star Scholarship Award as a way to spotlight EVS employees across the U.S. who consistently go above and beyond in their work. Nominees should embody an unwavering commitment to excellence, championing both cleanliness and the creation of a welcoming, positive experience within their facilities.
One exceptional winner will receive a scholarship for a full registration (valued at up to $1,000) to attend the 2026 AHE Exchange Summit, August 16–19, 2026 in New Orleans, LA. The winner will be announced by the end of November 2025.
