Renew Dental Protects Patients and Staff From COVID-19 Using Surfacide’s Proven UV Technology.

WAUKESHA (August 25, 2020) – Renew Dental is the first dental practice in the United States to adopt Surfacide–a powerful and innovative technology to combat COVID-19 head on and provide a safer environment for patients and staff. The leading Phoenix dental facility is using Surfacide’s proven UV-C system to decontaminate surfaces to address the concerns of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19.

Staff at Renew Dental were pleasantly surprised to see the technology at work, decontaminating patient rooms in as little as five minutes. Dr. Gwen Multine, DMD, discovered the Surfacide system when researching UV technology and knew her patients and workers would be appreciative in the dental practices’ investment in their safety.

“Our office is perfect for the Surfacide system. When the pandemic began, we were looking for something that would not just give the illusion of safety or spray chemicals into the air,” says Dr. Gwen Multine. “Surfacide accomplishes that while making our patients and technicians feel safer.”

Surfacide is being used to decontaminate rooms daily and Renew Dental has not reported any positive COVID-19 cases since its implementation. Each day, Renew Dental’s EVS team runs Surfacide in the exam rooms, cleans the space by hand and runs the Surfacide system once more for an additional layer of protection. The Surfacide system is the first of its kind to use a triple emitter UV-C technology to laser map the room and significantly reduce the presence of viruses and bacteria in a single, rapid cycle.

“Renew Dental is a unique partner of ours as they are the first dental office in the U.S. to implement Surfacide’s technology, and we are very impressed with their proactive infection prevention initiatives to address COVID-19, COVID-19 has made critical healthcare tasks like visiting the dentist something that many may delay doing for fear of the current pandemic. Surfacide and clinics like Renew dental are here to reduce that fear and provide a sense of normalcy back to everyday life.”
